After having another skunk prolapse the night after Valentine's day I took my skunk to another vet to have a more in depth checkup. The vet decided to stop worming her with the Pyrantel Pamoate and changed her to Ivermectin  (Note that this was not him saying that Pyrantel Pamoate is a bad wormer for skunks, it was simply because her specific parasites did not seem to be clearing so he wanted to try a different option.)  Along with this, he gave Gingerbread a thorough checkup. 

If you are anything like me you go through a ton of vegetables every month to feed your skunks. I look at this as part of the price of keeping my girls. But recently I started reusing my skunk's food in a new way to help cut costs.

After several months of working with Flower we have him down about 6 lbs.  He dropped weight rather quickly at first just from calorie control and then he has slowly lost more weight through a mix of diet and exercise.  Since I have been asked by several skunk owners, here is my diet regimen for him.
